Em primeiro lugar, tenho vindo a fazer muitos projectos de museus, galerias de exposições e trabalhos artísticos desde há muito tempo. Infelizmente, a maioria deles não foram construídos por causa das crises económicas. Assim, estou habituado a lidar com a complexidade deste tipo de projectos.
O programa de um museu Guggenheim em Helsínquia, que é uma das nove Capitais Europeias da Cultura, enquadra-se muito bem nesta cidade. O local proposto para o concurso é bastante atraente e rico graças à relação com a água, mas também com a colina do Parque Tähtitornin Vuori.
Tendo em conta ambas as referências de Bilbao e New York Guggenheims, decidi manter e desenvolver na minha própria língua o conceito da espiral.

First of all, I have been doing many projects of museums, exhibitions galleries and artistic work since a long time. Unfortunately, most of them were not built because of the economic crises. Thus, I am used to deal with the complexity of this type of projects.
The program of a Guggenheim museum in Helsinki, which is one of nine European Capitals of Culture, fits very well in this city. The site proposed for the competition is quite attractive and rich thanks to the relationship with the water but also with the hill of the Tähtitornin Vuori Park.
Taking into account both references of Bilbao and New York Guggenheims, I decided to maintain and develop in my own language the concept of the spiral.
